Easter days out at Bodiam Castle

Hiding behind a tree on a Cadbury Egg Hunt

The promise of springtime and warmer weather is a great opportunity to get out and about. During the Easter holidays we've fun for all the family at Bodiam Castle with a Cadbury Egg Hunt with a difference. We'll also be starting up our archery lessons again and, new for this year, the chance to take a walk with and fly a bird of prey or owl.

Join in our Easter holiday fun

Bring the family to Bodiam Castle this Easter and join in our Cadbury Egg Hunt with a difference. You'll need to hunt for dragons, including our new dragon, created by last year's Easter competition winner.

The dragons are hidden in the castle and grounds and we need the help of brave and daring young knights and princesses to find them all and save the castle from a fiery siege.

All intrepid adventurers who help us with our Cadbury Egg Hunt will be rewarded with a Cadbury chocolate prize.

  • £3 per hunter

  • 11am to 4pm daily from 1 - 17 April

There's prizes to be won on our Easter trails

Try out some medieval skills

In medieval England bold knights and genteel princesses would have been trained in bow skills and your little rebels can have the chance to learn these skills during the school holidays.

This year we'll have trained instructors from The Hawking Centre on hand to give archery tuition. Archers would have formed an important part of the defensive force for the castle and skill with the arrow was essential for the protection of the castle's residents.

Learn how to loose an arrow at a traditional target and see if you are a good shot.

  • Weekends and school holidays from 1 April to 3 September inclusive

  • 11am to 4pm

  • No need to pre-book

  • £3.50 for 6 arrows

  • Medieval costumed instructors

  • Traditional targets

  • Weather permitting - we may have to suspend archery during high winds or very wet weather
