BBC Gardeners' Question Time at Bodnant Garden
We had a great time when the nation's favourite gardening show came to Bodnant Garden.
First aired in 1947, the popular Radio 4 show is a regular part the week for keen gardeners up and down the land, reaching more than 2 million listeners who down tools to tune in on Fridays and Sundays.
The programme at Bodnant Garden presented by Eric Robson with well known horticulturalists Bob Flowerdew, Mathew Briggs and Pippa Greenwood, was recorded on February 13, 2018. More than 120 keen local gardeners filled our Pavilion tearoom to put their questions to the panel of experts and got some top tips on late winter and early spring gardens.
Head gardener John Rippin gave the #BBCGQT team a tour of the garden before the show and they were especially taken with our Winter Garden, full of colour and scent in all its February glory. John said: “I’ve been listening in since I was a boy so it’s really exciting to be hosting this show – and a great start to spring here at Bodnant Garden.
“As gardeners we’re used to being asked lots of weird and wonderful questions by visitors here at Bodnant and I’m looking forward to putting a question of my own to the panel!”
