Free Guided Walks on Box Hill

A group on a guided walk at Box Hill one winter morning

Find out about Box Hill's hidden histories on this one hour-long guided walk around the top of Box Hill. Walking around the top of the hill, you'll learn about the fantastic flora and fauna that call this iconic landmark home, as well as the incredible people who have lived and worked here.

When and Where

Our walks set off at 11.30am from the Shepherd's Hut in the main car park at Box Hill on Wednesdays and Fridays. There's no need to book a place and dogs are welcome to come along too. Our walks last approximately one hour. We walk in all weathers, apart from thunder and lightening.

Box Hill's history

As well as the flora and fauna that make Box Hill so special, there have been some amazing characters who have visited or lived at Box Hill. Our guides will point these out to you along the way and are happy to answer any of your questions as you walk.

A nice cuppa afterwards

Head over to the Box Hill cafe after your walk for a well-earned cup of tea. We serve snacks, sandwiches and salads all day too. There are water bowls and dog biscuits by the Shepherd's Hut for your four-legged friends.
