Our work at Bridestones, Crosscliff & Blakey Topping

A volunteer clearing bracken Bridestones, Crosscliff & Blakey Topping

From repairing fences to thinning forestry plantations and cutting hay meadows, there’s always plenty of work to keep our Rangers busy at Bridestones, Crosscliff and Blakey Topping

In fact our small team is also responsible for looking after Roseberry Topping and Scarth Wood Moor near Osmotherley as well as Bransdale in the heart of the North York Moors. We’d never get through all the work if it wasn’t for the many kind hearted people who give up their time to lend a hand as volunteers.
There are many benefits to joining us; the satisfaction of helping a charity for the benefit of local countryside and wildlife, being outdoors, meeting new people and learning new skills.
We work flexibly, welcome all ages and abilities and appreciate the offer of as many hours as you can spare. If you don’t have any experience, don't worry - we give on-site training for all our volunteer tasks.
We also support volunteers who may be looking to develop experience in a certain field and can often help when training opportunities become available within the National Trust.
If you'd like to find out more, please call our Area Ranger Gareth Wilson for an informal chat on 07825 114063 or get in touch via email.
