Yorkshire Grit Meets Mindfulness
For the month of May Brimham is linking up with Mindfulness and Yoga experts to deliver a variety of Mindful activities and events, geared towards helping people deal with the pressures of modern life.
Caroline Salter has practised Yoga for more than 20 years and has been a teacher for more than 15. The style of Yoga she teaches is a varied Hatha, often inspired by nature and the changing seasons, and her classes are friendly and inclusive.
A tendency towards anxiety and a desire to fully enjoy the richness of life brought her to the practise of Mindfulness which she has found to be transformative. Wishing to share the benefit with others she trained to be a Mindfulness teacher with the Mindfulness Association in 2015 and 2016. She has a particular interest in the healing benefits of Mindfulness meditation and yoga especially in relation to stress and anxiety.
Through the month of May Caroline will be running Mindful Yoga sessions on Mondays. If you are interested in attending one of her classes please call 01423 780688 to book a place.
Trish Nugent has been a Stress Therapist (MBSR qualified) for nearly 20 years and an MBLC qualified teacher certified by the Mindfulness Association for over a year. Trish has taught 8-week Mindfulness courses and workshops continually for the last year and specializes in Mindfulness for anxiety and stress management. In the month of May Trish will be leading Mindful walks at Brimham and morning and overnight retreats taking place at Acorn Wellness and Brimham Rocks.
Melva Burton has had an interest in yoga and meditation for more years than she cares to count (but it's well over forty!). She has worked as a coach and trainer in a variety of settings including further education and the voluntary sector and has trained to deliver Mindfulness Based Living Programme and Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention programmes. She is currently in the second year of an MSc in Studies in Mindfulness at Aberdeen University.
On 16th April Melva and Caroline will be leading a day of mindfulness including some of the key mindfulness practices from sitting meditations to mindful movement and bodyscan. Come and join us in this beautiful setting and find out about mindfulness, how to meditate and how to practise mindfulness in every day life.
The day is suitable for newcomers or those who wish to deepen their practice in the support of a group. Lunch and refreshments are included.
