Brockhampton Estate tenants win awards

Two bottles of rapeseed oil

We love celebrating what’s local and we're thrilled to announce that tenants of the Brockhampton Estate have won a very prestigious Fine Farm Produce Award, for the second year in a row. James Hawkins from Warren Farm collected an award for his Pure Herefordshire Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil which is made from rapeseed grown here on the estate.

Celebrating food

The awards, supported by Freedom Food, celebrate the breadth and quality of produce grown, reared or made on places owned or managed by us.
Despite only going into production in 2015, James has already sold 1,000 litres of oil and it’s not hard to see why. It has a number of different applications; from frying and baking, to making delicious dressings. You can try it by picking-up a bottle from our Granary shop at Lower Brockhampton.

The perfect accompaniment

Rapeseed oil produced here on the estate is the perfect base for a range of dishes.
It makes a great base for all sorts of food and is a light and neutral ingredient for salad dressings and marinades where the oil lets the flavours of other ingredients shine through.
