Plan your winter weekend on Brownsea
Winter brings serenity to the island and at just 1.5 miles long and 0.75 miles wide it’s easy to explore in a day. Watch Spoonbills elegantly sweep the lagoon for food; marvel at the wintry views across the harbour or even catch a glimpse of spring time daffodils before their yellow flowers get nibbled by the Sika deer.
How to get here:
Greenslades Pleasure Cruises will be running the ferry service for winter weekends from Poole Quay and the National Trust Enterprise will be running the service from Sandbanks Jetty. The ferry fare is payable by all passengers on arrival, including National Trust members. Please note that the National Trust island admission also applies for all visitors apart from NT members, who are welcome free of charge. 2019 admission and ferry prices coming soon.
Cafe and shop
The cafe will be open as usual for winter weekends and will close 15 minutes before last the ferry leaves at 4pm. The Engine Gift shop displays will be moved to the coffee shop (next to cafe) for the winter weekends. Drop in and pick up your essentials for winter wildlife spotting.
