Perfect picnic spots
Once you've stepped off the boat you can step into the café and buy all you need for the perfect picnic on Brownsea.
Then head off to find the perfect spot to eat it. We recommend one of the viewpoints looking out towards the Purbeck Hills or further along with views towards Furzey Island, all along the south shore. On hotter days, there's always the shade amongst the trees in the woodland. If you sit still for long enough, you may be lucky and see a cheeky red squirrel, curious to find out what's on the menu today.
If you like to watch the world go by, head up to Church Field, a short walk from the ferry, on busy days it can be a hive of activity, but watch your lunch because the peacocks can be partial to a sandwich or two.
If getting away from it's your thing, head past Church field and venture further across the island towards Pottery Pier where you can stay up high and catch views out towards Arne and the islands or head down to the beach and clamber across the pottery chards that sprawl across the beach, left over from a once thriving industrial past.
