1. Purbeck viewpoints
We'll start our picnic spot tips, at the viewpoints. If you're looking for dramatic views head here to soak up the sights and sounds of this dramatic coastline, where you really get a feeling of sanctuary just across the water from the hustle and bustle.
2. Brownsea's beaches
As the sun dips and you're looking for a late afternoon bite, head down to the beach at Maryland or the South Shore . Soft sand meets shallow water, perfect for cooling off those hot toes after a long walk.
3. Church Field
If you've packed quite the banquet and don't want to have to walk too far, Church Field is just a 5 minute stroll from the ferry and Courtyard toilets. Just take care not to let our feathered friends feast on your picnic too.
Natural play area
A great place to stop for your packed lunch but save room for your imaginary camp banquet at your newly created den too. From pine cone hot pots to loose leaf soup - what culinary creations might you cook up?
5. The Lily Pond
Throw down a blanket and enjoy the lilies in the dappled sunlight. The oak and beech trees provide the perfect cover if you need a little more shelter. Here's a good place to spot dragonflies and damselflies darting about too.
6. Daffodil Field & Horse Field
Horse Field behind the Lily Pond is closest in proximity to the Outdoor Centre facilities which include toilets and baby changing. Here you'll find lots of space to throw down your blanket and take shelter under the trees.
If you're planning a picnic on Brownsea, its important to remember there are no BBQs allowed at any time due to the high fire risk. Here's a reminder on our general BBQ policy and some hints and tips on planning a sustainable picnic.
