There is only one small car park available. If full please turn around and come back later, please do not park on the lanes. No overnight parking or camping
Dogs
Dogs welcome under control. Please bag your dog's poo and carry it until you find a dog waste bin, or take it home with you. Cattle graze freely in and around the hill fort, please keep your dog under control and don't approach them

By road
From Callington take the A390 towards Liskeard. When at Newbridge where a bridge crosses the River Lynher. Cross the bridge and take the immediate left turn. Follow the narrow lane until you reach the car park. From Liskeard take the A390 towards Callington. When at Newbridge where a bridge crosses the River Lynher, take the right hand turn before you cross the bridge. Follow the narrow lane until you reach the car park.
Parking: Parking is limited. Please turn around and come back later if there is no space. Please do not park on the surrounding lanes.
By bus
Transport for Cornwall service 74 (Callington to Liskeard via Pensilvia) stops at Newbridge. Please request the bus driver to stop at Newbridge when boarding. Cadsonbury is about a 15 minute walk from the bus stop. Cross the bridge over the River Lynher and follow the narrow lane on the left hand side to reach the car park and start of walks.

About Cadsonbury
These woodlands and hillfort in the Lynher Valley are a wonderful place to enjoy peace and tranquility. The woodlands are predominately alder and willow carr (a Site of Special Scientific Interest) and are abundant in wildlife. The lesser butterfly orchid, kingfishers, otters, and dippers call this place home.
Above the woodlands is Cadsonbury Hillfort. Carved out from a natural hill, this single ditched Iron Age Hill Fort was created between the 5th and 3rd Centuries BC and probably served as a beacon site as well as a protected dwelling.

Designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) Cadsonbury is worth protecting. The area features an ancient woodland which contains fertile soils, open water areas and rocky rapids, and is home to a diverse array of wildlife species, including dippers, otters and hazel dormice.
