Two children using binoculars in a field of wildflowers.

As the weather gets warmer it is the perfect time to get the family out in the fresh air and enjoy the outdoor spaces here at Canons Ashby.

Pick up a 50 things to do before you’re 11¾ scrapbook and get some ideas for making life-long memories with your younger explorers.
Here are a few of the 50 things to do before you’re 11¾ you can try out this spring at Canons Ashby.

Number 16. Make a daisy chain

The daisies will soon be flowering happily everywhere. Why not visit our paddock, look for flowers and try making yourself a daisy crown.

Number 22. Explore inside a tree

Explore one of our big old trees in the parkland (and watch out for lambs!)

Number 25. Make a grass trumpet

Pick a nice piece of grass from the paddock or parkland and give it a go!

Number 31. Hunt for bugs

Have a closer look on the plants and ground around the site and see what little creatures you can find. In spring many of them will just be waking up. This is included in our Wild Nature Trail, available from Visitor Reception.

Number 44. Go bird watching

Bring your binoculars and keep your eyes on the sky!

And if the weather lets us down you can always…

Number 6. Run around in the rain

Bring your wellies and find yourself some good puddles to splash in! Have a good run around and then warm up in the tea room.

Have a look through the book and enjoy some family adventure time.
Once you have done one of these 50 things to do, visit the Coach House to collect the sticker for your scrap book.

Why not visit later in the year and try our suggestions for other seasons! Keep an eye on our what's on page for special 50 Things events coming up.
