Feeling Festive at Canons Ashby
Come and enjoy the fresh air and escape the hustle and bustle of this busy time of year, then treat yourself in our shop or our tea room.
Though the beds aren't in full bloom, there are plenty of reasons to get out in to the garden. Enjoy the sharp clear lines of the formal garden and baroque vistas through the leafless trees whilst getting some fresh air on a crisp winter’s day.
As you explore the garden you will find the occasional winter flowers dotting the ground with colour and you will be able to appreciate far off views of the surrounding countryside.
With the family
Pick up a Silver Bells trail and find ways to make music throughout the spinny and paddock. Christmas used to be full of home-made music, so pick up a bell or a beater and play your heart out. How many instruments can you find? What are the different sounds you can make?
Remember to go back to the Coach House to pick up your prize and sticker. The trail costs £2 per trail, runs until 5 January and no booking is required.
Eating and drinking
There are plenty of treats and decorations in the shop to help you feel festive. Why not pick up some pressies with us? Every time you pick up something from our gift shop you are helping us to fund our conservation of this historic place and the surrounding environment.
Whilst you're here why not pop into the tea room and treat yourself to festive favourites like mince pies or a hot chocolate?
In the new year
Shake off the cobwebs by joining the walking group for a refreshing New Year Walk on 7 January. Great for walking off some of those mince pies! Find out more here.
The house is currently closed until 10 February for important conservation work. We look forward to welcoming you into our buildings in the new year.
Please note: the whole property will be closed for Christmas on the 23, 24, 25 and 26 December.
