Lois Eadie was born in Dun Laoghaire and later moved to Co. Down but forty years ago, came to Co Fermanagh where she has lived and worked ever since.
Initially, after college, she worked with the Department of Agriculture but decided to travel and work in Florence and Turin.
Her time in Italy inspired her to resume her painting, which had always been part of her life, so when she returned to Ireland she focused on seascapes, in particular on the coasts of Donegal and Connemara and the rugged coastlines of Brittany.
Her own particularly fluid use of oil in her paintings gives Lois the freedom and opportunity to emphasise the power and movement of dramatic tides in her seascapes, and to capture the unique colours of the seas of Ireland.
Lois has exhibited in group shows both North and South in Ireland including The Clandeboye Estate, The Lissadell Art Gallery, The Devenish Gallery and The Higher Bridges Gallery, Enniskillen.
