Studio at Castle Ward
Our farmyard is home to an artist's studio where you can watch our skilled artists create their work and peruse some to take home.
Tucked into the corner of the farmyard, visit the studio to see our resident artists at work and shop their hand made items. Ann and Paola bring the historic area to life with their different specialisms and they're always happy to discuss what they're working on and share their current inspirations.
Paola is a fine art graduate of the University of Ulster. Since coming to Northern Ireland more than 20 years ago, painting has become her full time activity. Her work can be found in private collections and she exhibits regularly around Ireland.
Paola’s art has mostly been influenced by her memories related to Italy, her homeland, yet the beautiful surroundings in which she works have affected her art and the Irish landscape has started to appear in her work.
The subject of buildings, mostly of her country of origin, help her maintain a connection with Italy; like people, she finds they they have memories and stories to tell.
Ann is a stained glass artist creating original works for churches, schools, hospitals, public buildings & private collections. In addition to her large architectural pieces, Ann also creates small pieces of stained glass art enabling anyone to enjoy the magic of this ancient art form in their own home.
Ann draws inspiration from her traditional training and love of medieval stained glass then adds her own contemporary twist to create pieces that are both unique and timeless.
