Visitors on tour of house at Charlecote Park

Every one of our volunteers has a different reason for becoming part of the team at Charlecote, but they all help to make each visitor’s experience memorable. What would you like to gain from volunteering for a few hours each week?

Whether you’re looking for something fun and social, or interesting and stimulating we’d love to hear from you.

We’re currently looking for House Guides and Tour Guides – why not drop in to one of our Volunteering Open Days on Tuesday 6 June or Wednesday 21 June?

Initially, we're looking for Wednesday volunteers, but this will be extended to other days next year.

House Guides

Providing a warm and friendly welcome, these are the enthusiastic volunteers who chat to our visitors, answering questions and providing those “I didn’t know that” moments that everyone loves. There’s plenty of training and information which you’ll find just as fascinating as our visitors do.

Tour Guides

These volunteers lead groups around Charlecote, telling memorable stories and anecdotes that will engage our visitors with Charlecote’s history and place in the landscape. We’ll help you research and present your own tours too.

Gain more from volunteering

Our volunteers are part of a passionate team who love Charlecote and enjoy discounts, volunteer-only events and visits elsewhere, as well as free tea and cake. Have we persuaded you…?

You'll know that you are making a real difference - helping this special place and keeping it special for future generations.

" It never fails to amaze me that after 12 years at Charlecote my interest in volunteering has never diminished. I still am being asked questions for the first time and entering conversations where I learn new things from our visitors. I've made wonderful long-term friendships here. Walking into Charlecote early in the morning I love the feeling of history, the wonderful vista and the sense of all the people who have created it"
- Neil Chandler, Monday Day Leader

Sign up first

If you’d like to know more, please sign up below, then come and see us on 6 or 21 June.
We’ll tell you what’s involved (over a cuppa and biscuits, we know what makes our volunteers tick!) and you can ask questions, meet some of the team and see if these are the roles for you.

Help our visitors to see more and share your love of Charlecote.
