Winter walking at Charlecote

Chilly, frosty mornings or blustery afternoons – just wrap up warm and pull on your jolliest wellies for a therapeutic walk to blow away the cobwebs in the parkland this winter.
Feel the cool, fresh air on your face as you stroll through wintry scenes in the parkland.

For families
Enjoy plenty of space to run round outdoors and tick off a few of your '50 things to do before you're 11¾'. Wrap up warm and for a few hours you can leave the tech behind and be inspired by nature. Join us for our World Book Day event from 5-8 March.
Get away from the hurly burly
Whatever the weather, a walk through the grounds is always a relaxing experience. Look out for the winter sun sparkling on the river, the bobbing flight of a woodpecker, the deer in the mist.
Take a close-up view of the brave snowdrops and cheery yellow eranthis in the gardens and enjoy the scent of winter-flowering mahonia, skimmia and sarcococca here too.
Listen for birdsong and the breeze swishing through the trees. Turn off your phone too for a while - when was the last time you weren’t alert for the next message?

Dog walking at Charlecote Park
We welcome well-behaved dogs in areas of our parkland and there's always somewhere you can get a hot drink too. Find out where you can enjoy Charlecote with your dog.

Severe weather closure
If severe weather is forecast - heavy rain and flooding, strong winds or snow - we close some areas or the whole property, sometimes at short notice. Find out why.
