Llwyn y cil walk
Enjoy fabulous views towards the Cheshire and Shropshire plains, walking through this glorious 18th-century designed parkland.

Start:
Chirk Castle car park
1
From the car park go up the hill towards the Castle.
2
Take the left hand fork and follow the winding road round past the entrance to the Castle.
3
The imposing bulk of Chirk Castle is the backdrop to this walk through the old deer park which was enclosed soon after the castle was completed in 1310.
4
Walk on down the hill towards the entrance drive and turn onto the path to your right. Go over the stile (or through the gate) and follow the white topped posts towards the Llwyn y Cil.
5
When you reach the gate you can either go through onto the road, or turn back and retrace your steps back to the castle and car park. If you continue onwards, you can cross the road and then go over a stile and follow a path to Chirk train station, and onwards into Chirk. Alternatively you can turn right and follow the road until you get to the White Davies gates. Continue past the gates and you can follow the exit drive back to the car park.
