From light bites to hearty lunches and meals designed specifically for little ones, there's a tasty treat for everyone at Cliveden.

Places to eat at Cliveden

Choose from a range of refreshments at the cafes and kiosks on the estate. Hot food is served from 12.00pm until 2.30pm.

The Conservatory Café

The Conservatory Café has a limited menu of hot and cold food and drinks. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the Conservatory Cafe, but all dogs are welcome to sit with you outside the cafe.

The Refreshment Kiosk Grab and Go

Head to the Walled Garden car park to grab a takeaway hot drink or snack from the Kiosk when you visit. It's dog friendly, so feel free to bring your pooch along too.

Doll's House Grab and Go

The Doll's House Café is open from 11am until 3.30pm on weekends and during school holidays.

Remember your reusable cup

Every time you present a reusable cup when you order a hot drink at a café, tea-room or kiosk, we'll give you 25p off as a thank you for helping the environment by reducing the number of disposable cups used.*

This promotion replaces the hot drinks loyalty card scheme, which closed in February 2021.

Most of the food and drink served is prepared on site in our kitchen, using a wide range of ingredients. As a result, we can’t guarantee that any of our food and drink products are completely allergen free.

If you have an allergy or intolerance and would like ingredient information about the food and drink served, please ask the staff, who will be happy to help.

Visited before? We sometimes change our recipes to improve quality and flavour, including the ingredients. When you visit, please speak to one of our team to check the current allergen information for your favourite dish.

Watch out for red kites

Please beware of red kites. Cliveden is home to lots of red kites who may try to steal your food. Please do not feed them and, when picnicking, try to choose a spot that is sheltered from above, such as the shade of a tree.

Picnics at Cliveden

Fill your hamper with your favourite goodies from home, throw in a comfy blanket and dine al fresco at Cliveden. Download the Cliveden estate map to find your spot.

The Water Garden

This one is a family favourite. There are conveniently placed picnic tables in the Captain's Field in the Water Garden, perfect for laying out your packed lunch. You’ll be within easy reach of the Storybook Play Area and the Maze. The Doll's House toilets are very close too.

The top of North Paddocks

Make your way to the North Paddocks where there's plenty of open space to make goal posts with jumpers, play ball games and spread out your picnic rug.

Ilex Grove

If you're looking for peace and quiet, this one’s for you. The Ilex Grove is a secluded glade that not many people know about.

The woodlands

Prefer the shade? Try the woodlands. Here there's lots of sheltered spots to spread your picnic blanket or find a picnic table among the wood carvings at Susan’s Wood near the woodland car park.

Think 'green' and bring a bin bag

As a conservation charity we care about keeping special places looking their very best. On busy days litter bins around the site can fill up faster than we can empty them.

Bring a bin bag with you and put your rubbish in as you go. You're helping Cliveden stay clean and tidy and we appreciate it enormously.

Forgotten something?

Cliveden's gift shop is the perfect place to pick up a picnic essential. From blankets to hats, sun cream to strawberry jam – it really is a one-stop shop for picnic goodies.
