Family activities at Cliveden

children playing in the autumn leaves at Cliveden

Get the whole family outdoors locally and closer to the natural world this autumn. Whether it's learning while having fun with our four fortnights of trails or reconnecting with nature through the list of '50 things to do at Cliveden before you're 125 ¾'; there's lots of fun to be had come rain or shine against the backdrop of the trees at Cliveden phasing from green to glorious gold. We're open seven days a week and we no longer have a booking system in place. Our quietest times are weekdays.

Cliveden's woodlands burst into all the colours of a flame in autumn, and a walk down to the bank of the river Thames is rewarded this season by spectacular autumn colour framing Cliveden house perched up on the cliffs, and reflected in the water below.

Autumn is a fantastic time of year for exploring new corners of Cliveden. We're celebrating the season with four self-led family trails with different themes for each fortnight. Visitors tall and small are invited to engage all their senses while discovering the delights of the Round Garden, hunting for minibeasts, and learning something new about our tremendous trees and lovely leaves.

Pack a picnic (...and a bin bag!)

On busy days the queues can soon build up in our Conservatory Café, so skip the queue and bring your own food and drink from home. There are many grassy areas around the estate for you to set down a woolly rug on, or picnic tables for you to dine off. If you bring your own bin bag you'll help keep the estate clean and green, just the way we like it!
