Family activities at Cliveden
Get the whole family outdoors locally and closer to the natural world this summer. Whether it's learning while having fun with our Summer of Senses trail activity or reconnecting with nature through the list of '50 things to do at Cliveden before you're 125 ¾'; there's lots of fun to be had come rain or shine. We're open seven days a week and we no longer have a booking system in place. Our quietest times are weekdays.
Summer of Senses trail
At this time of year the gardens at Cliveden are alive with colour, fragrance and the sound of birdsong. Head to each of the locations on the map to see what you can learn and discover about the five senses as you explore the Cliveden estate with your hands, eyes, nose and ears.
Print or download this free activity sheet on your smartphone and bring it to Cliveden.
Limited copies are available on site outside the Information Centre. The trail runs from 22 July and the trail points will change every two weeks so make sure you come back for more fun throughout the summer holidays. The trail ends 6 September.
If you've had a great time as a family on the Summer of Senses trail at Cliveden, why not text CLIVEDEN to 70525 and donate £5 to help us maintain the property for future visitors and wildlife.

50 Things to do at Cliveden before you're 125 3/4
As part of our celebrations for the 125th anniversary of the National Trust last year, we released 50 things to do at Cliveden before you’re 125 ¾, as suggested by our staff, volunteers and visitors to help you and your little ones get the most out of your visit to Cliveden. We hope that ticking your way through this list will help you to re-connect with nature, re-discover your inner child and fall in love with all Cliveden has to offer, come rain or shine.
Pick up a leaflet from the Info Centre and let us know how you’re getting on using #50thingsatCliveden
Pack a picnic (...and a bin bag!)
On busy days in the summer, the queues can soon build up in our Conservatory Café, so skip the queue and bring your own food and drink from home. There are many grassy areas around the estate for you to set down a woolly rug on, or picnic tables for you to dine off. If you bring your own bin bag you'll help keep the estate clean and green, just the way we like it!
