Group visits at Cliveden
Cliveden is a perfect destination for a group day out. There's something for everyone including beautiful seasonal floral displays and an outstanding sculpture collection.
Latest update as of May 2022:
Thank you for your enquiry about a group visit to Cliveden. We have had a high level of interest in group visits this year and we welcome a large number of visitors to our busy property, especially over the summer period, and we have now reached our group booking capacity until mid-September.
We strive to deliver a high standard of experience for all of our groups from the point of initial enquiry, through to welcoming the group onto the estate, and during the visit, for instance in managing queues at refreshment points. We have taken the decision to limit all further group bookings activity to mid-September onwards, in order to maintain the quality of visitor experience.
We will re-open for group bookings enquiries in mid-September.
Planning your group visit
Cliveden welcomes group visits throughout the year, from Monday to Friday, not including bank holidays. We recommend that you allow three to four hours to see the formal gardens and have enough time to stop for lunch or tea.
Cliveden offers guided visits of the House on a first-come, first-served basis, as well as Garden tours, during certain months, subject to confirmation with the gardens team.
Group bookings will be available from Tuesday 26th April 2022 inclusive. To qualify for group booking rates your group must have 15 or more people.
Please note, a minimum of 3 weeks notice is required to confirm your group booking.
National Trust Members gain entry to the grounds and gardens for free.
Non-Members will be charged the 2022 group entry rate of £15.20 per adult to enter the grounds and gardens (child rate £7.60).
Guided house visits
Cliveden house is currently leased as a luxury country house hotel and, to protect the privacy of its guests, the house is not open to the public. However, for limited times of the year the doors of the glamorous ground floor open to visitors on a 30 minute guided visit, run by our volunteers.
You'll also have a chance to see some of the most intriguing rooms, some of which were enjoyed by the likes of Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin and the Queen Mother, including the impressive Great Hall and famous French Dining Room,.
- Availability - March to October (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday).
- House visits will break for the summer from w/c 25 July until w/c 5 September (last visit session 21 July, restarting on 5 September).
- Visits run every 10 minutes from 11am to 12.30 pm, dependent upon guide availability. Visit sessions last 30 minutes each and the final session of the day finishes at 1pm.
Each house visit has a capacity of 10 visitor slots. Please note that there is no pre-booking for house visits, and tickets are available from the Info Centre in the Main Visitor Car Park.
Due to the nature of the house visits, we advise that they are more suited to an adult audience.
- Tour Cost - £2 per person. National Trust members free.
Garden tours, led by one of our knowledgeable gardeners, are available during the months of April (from 26th), May, July, August and September, subject to confirmation with the gardens team. The tour costs an additional £10 per person (including members), with a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 18.
For enquires, to book, or if you have any further requests, please e-mail the team at email@example.com and we will do our best to accommodate you.
For tours, it is necessary for group members to have admission tickets for the gardens or National Trust membership to enter the estate. These should be pre-booked through the team when confirming your booking.
