Getting to Corfe Castle

Corfe Castle seen from the Swanage Railway platform

You’ll find alternative parking nearby as well as public transport and cycling options.

Norden car park, pay and display, is signposted from the A351 just north of Corfe Castle and has 350 long stay spaces.

If you park there you can combine your trip to Corfe Castle with a steam train ride on the Swanage Railway, which stops conveniently in the village a two minute walk from the castle, or follow the footpath to Castle View, a 10 to 15-minute walk.

However, please be aware the footpath crosses the railway line via an unmanned crossing and there is a steep bank to negotiate - not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies.

Swanage Railway also offers travel to Corfe Castle from Swanage, Herston and Harman’s Cross.

There is a second pay and display car park in West Street in the village.

It has 125 spaces, two disabled spaces and offers short and long term options. It’s a five to 10-minute walk to the castle.

Both the above car parks are operated by local authorities.

Alternatively, take in the beauty of Purbeck with a bus ride on the More Buses number 40 bus running between Poole and Swanage, again stopping in the heart of Corfe Castle village.

Finally, cyclists can use National Cycle Network Route Two.
