Walk of the month...

The autumn colours starting to show at Cragside, Northumberland

With acres of land and over 40 miles of footpaths to explore up hills, around lakes, through woodland and gardens you'll definitely be spoilt for choice!

There's always a walk to enjoy at Cragside, in any weather and at any time of year. To help you decide, Head Ranger Duncan Norman will be telling us his walk of the month, and will be recommending which walking route is the best one to enjoy every month of the year.

This month our Walk of the month is the Orange walk, a challenging 3 1/4 mile waymarked walk starting from Blackburn car park.
Park at Blackburn car park, and you'll begin your walk alongside what used to be Blackburn lake, now a wetland. Follow the Orange waymarkers on this circular route.
The route includes great views of the suurounding woodland, and you'll also pass by the thatched boathouse, shepherd's hut, and Cragend.
We recommend sturdy footwear for this challenging walk, and four-legged friends are more than welcome, kept on a short lead.
