Wet weather adventures

Don't let a bit of drizzle or a spot of snow spoil your fun... there's plenty to do when it's raining at Cragside

Welly walks and muddy fun

Cragside is loads of fun to explore when it’s wet, just pop your wellies on and head outside!
Rainfall makes Blackburn Lake and Debdon Burn really come to life as they run even faster and froth up like a giant cappuccino.
The trees in the Pinetum act as giant umbrellas when it rains… well, you’ll probably still get wet but they’re still fun to run under!
One of the best parts about being out in the rain? Jumping in puddles! Whether you’re in the woodland, Labyrinth or Formal Garden, you’ll definitely find a puddle to splash in on a rainy day. Plus, it’s one of your 50 Things to do before you’re 11 ¾ activities.
Lovely weather for ducks! See if you spot our ducks and geese around the lakes enjoying the wet weather.

Don't forget... you can also keep dry and explore the estate by car on the carriage drive, a 6-mile drive with 8 car parks to stop at along the way.
