A Wartime Christmas at Croft

Rediscover the magic of Christmas at Croft, this November and December. From Saturday 21 November, every weekend you can visit and experience the camaraderie of a wartime Christmas with decorations, music, wreath making and stories of how the family would have welcomed guests to their home.

On Saturday 21, 28 and Sunday 22, 29 November, from 11am to 4pm, visitors can see the castle being prepared for December celebrations. There'll be decorations and trees around the family rooms of the castle, music around the piano and the story of the 21 young men in the local parish who went off to war.
Back home the show must go on and on the first three weekends of December, families will be able to pay a visit to Father Christmas in his workshop for an early Christmas gift. The workshop will be open from 11am to 4pm so don't forget your Christmas list.

There's also a special treat on Saturday 19 December with Quantum Theatre's indoor theatre performance of 'A Christmas Carol'. Scrooge is forced to face his destiny as the ghosts of his past, present and future parade his life before his eyes, but can he learn his lesson and become a changed man in time for Christmas day? Performance starts at 1pm in the church and is free of charge. Normal admission fees apply and Father Christmas' workshop is £6 per child.

Our tea-room and shop are open every weekend with the castle and will be serving a Christmas menu including take away options if you want to enjoy a walk with your dog during your visit. Our shop is open from 11am where you'll get chance to grab any of those last minute Christmas gifts.
