Formby Festival

The National Trust had a stall at the popular Formby Festival on the 15th and 16th July. POur pine cone weaving activities gave us a chance to talk to adults while the children were busy and to find out what local people loved and valued about our site.

Stakeholder meetings begin

We held a first key stakeholder meeting. This group represents organisations and groups who have a real interest in the coast, but not necessarily a direct involvement through, for example, statutory processes. We listen to their views and share ideas with them. The group is by invite, but we welcome suggestions on who should be included. We aim to have a meeting every two months.

Community Involvement Panel is formed

The first Community Involvement Panel meeting took place. Members had responded to the survey the previous year to say they would like to be more deeply involved. The group is restricted to 10 members and is full at the moment but membership will be reviewed and opened up on a regular basis. The panel meets every six weeks to discuss ideas and suggestions for managing the coast.
