Erddig guided school visits

Children enjoying making and tasting traditional lemonade in Erddig's Kitchen

Step back in time to experience what life was like for the servants of Erddig Hall. Explore the house, servants areas and gardens to piece together their tales and secrets to discover the unique story of this 400 year old stately home.

We run guided school visits from March to the end of November for primary school pupils on the theme of 'Homes from the Past’. We can offer a whole day of guided activities for groups of 30 pupils maximum.

Homes from the Past

Discover the similarities and differences between homes of today and life in a stately home in the early 1900’s. Children will explore below stairs and learn more about the many servants who worked at Erddig. Pupils will have the opportunity to dress in clothes from the past and experience aspects of servant life through hands-on activities in areas such as the laundries and kitchens.

All activities will be led by our volunteer costumed guides.
