From school parties to holiday clubs, scouts, guides, pre-school groups and youth clubs, Erddig is a fantastic day out for any self-guided group.

Self-guided visit to Erddig house and gardens


Take your pupils on an exploration of Erddig house through servant areas and luxurious rooms. Room guides are present for children to ask any questions they might have about the rooms, furnishings and items. Outside, an impressive range of outbuildings includes Stables, Smithy, Joiners' Workshop, Sawmill and our superb 18th century Grade I listed formal gardens.

Explore the outbuildings and gardens starting at 11am, entry to the House starts from 12.30pm with last admissions at 3.30pm.
 

Costs


Groups with Education Group Membership (EGM) can visit Erddig for FREE.
EGM is available to not-for-profit education groups whose members, pupils or students are in full-time education. You can take out membership before your visit or purchase it on the day.

If you do not have EGM you will need to pay group admission to the house and gardens (eligible for groups of 15 or more people).

Teacher-led Environmental workshops

Available from April to September

Habitats and adaptations

Hire Felin Puleston Countryside Centre and Equipment from 10am to 3pm to run teacher-led pond dipping, river dipping, bug hunting and habitat assessment.  Discover the adaptations creatures need to survive in different environments and the food chains connecting them. What weird and wonderful wildlife lives on our 1,200-acre estate?  


Price: £2.50 per pupil to cover hall hire and equipment hire.
Felin Puleston Countryside Centre can accommodate up to 55 children maximum.



River studies


Available all year round


Hire Felin Puleston Countryside Centre and equipment from 10am to 3pm to run teacher-led investigations of the River Clywedog and learn all about different river features: meanders, tributaries, deposition  and  erosion. Children can develop field studies skills by collecting data including river depth, water flow speed and pebble size.


Price: £2.50 per pupil to cover hall hire and equipment hire.
Felin Puleston Countryside Centre can accommodate up to 55 children maximum.
