Come Out and Play at Hidcote

Come Out and Play at Hidcote over the summer holidays with our free programme of 1920s themed games.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Over the summer we're inviting you to come out and play at Hidcote, with a range of 1920s themed activities.

Summer Family Activities

Borrow our wooden tennis rackets and challenge a friend to a game of tennis; join the local U3A group as they play croquet or challenge your family to a game on the Plant Shelter Lawn; or see who can score the most points at quoits.

Take in one of the local walks, enjoying the 1-mile boundary walk around the outside of the garden and Hidcote sheep fields, or go a little bit further and challenge yourself to one of the circular routes taking in the Cotswolds countryside. Maps for all of our local walks can be found at Visitor Reception, please ask a member of staff for a copy or feel free to take a picture from our Local Walks display.

Our summer programme is free and fun for all ages. Normal admission to the garden applies.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

  Gift Aid Standard
Amount paid by visitor £11.00 £10.00
Tax refund from Government* £2.75 £0.00
Total received by the National Trust £13.75 £10.00
