Work the land using traditional methods including scrub clearing or furze cutting. Spend the morning working alongside a Dorset County Council Ranger who leads a team of volunteers at Thorncombe Woods. Be rewarded by a hot lunch in the Under the Greenwood Tree café at Hardy’s Birthplace Visitor Centre. In the afternoon you will be met by National Trust staff and volunteers who invite you to an exclusive viewing of Hardy’s Cottage on a day it is closed to the public.
