Make a Celtic Back stool

With expert guidance from our experienced tutors, you can learn and improve your traditional woodworking skills and techniques on this course.

  • Booking essential

On this two day course you start with ash logs. They are split, axed and draw knived into leg shapes and then turned on the pole lathe. Back sticks are made using hand held rotary planes.

Legs and back sticks are inserted into a hardwood seat and steam bent hardwood comb.

This three leg hybrid stool is surprisingly comfortable and is an improvement on the previous version.
