With expert guidance from our experienced tutors, you can learn the skills you need to make your own elegant Windsor chair on this six day course.

Using hand tools and green woodworking techniques, this course revives some of the oldest traditions of English chair making.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Car park charge of £5.00 per vehicle, per day. Parking is free for National Trust members with a valid car sticker and membership card. Free parking with designated spaces for Blue Badge holders, coaches and motorcyles.

20% off voucher for café and shop for visitors arriving by bicycle or by public transport, available from the Ticket Office at Home Farm visitor centre.

Please dress for the weather - the workshop will take place undercover but outside. Please wear sturdy footwear and clothes you don't mind getting a bit messy.

Ticket price includes all materials, use of tools, drinks and lunch. No previous experience is required for this six day course. Please note that this is a six day course. The first day of the course runs from 10am to 5pm. The final five days of the course run from 9am to 5pm.
