What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Peak ticket applies 2 March - 3 November, Wednesday - Sunday (plus Bank Holiday Mondays); and 7 - 22 December, Saturday and Sunday.

Off-peak ticket applies every day 1 January - 1 March, 4 November - 6 December and 23 - 31 December; also, Mondays (excluding Bank Holidays) and Tuesdays 2 March - 3 November.

Parking is free for National Trust members. If you're not a member the following parking charges apply:

Between 2 March and 3 November:

£7 all day, £4 after 3pm, £2 after 5pm. Coaches £10.

Between 1 January - 1 March and 4 November - 31 December: £4

Access to the Parkland is free all year round.

Suitability
Older families welcome
Assistance dogs are welcome.
Meeting point
Meet through the gardens entrance. This walk is in the gardens so you'll need an admission ticket or a valid National Trust Membership card. The walk is free but there's a suggested donation of £2.
What to bring and wear
Paths can be muddy, please wear suitable shoes and clothes for being outdoors whatever the weather.
Accessibility
The Kitchen Garden routes are grass paths and can be very muddy in Spring.
