As part of your bank holiday visit this August, come and browse a wide selection of books which have been donated by our supporters. Stock up for your holidays whilst raising funds for our special place.

On the Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 11-2pm, bring your little ones and listen to a story from one of our friendly storytellers.

Every time you take home a pre-loved story, you’re helping us to look after the next chapter of Canons Ashby’s history.

Normal Admission Prices Apply

The Book Sale is between 28 May – 5 June, 10-4pm. Storytelling and children's activities will only be available Thursday - Sunday, during the Jubilee Bank Holiday. The book tent may be unmanned outside of the Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Park in the main Visitor Car Park, and start your visit at Visitor Reception. To visit the Book Sale, head for big white marquee.
What to bring and wear
Please dress for the weather
Accessibility
The marquee is accessed over a low metal ground bar, with a rubber mat over the bar. This should make it easier for people to access, but is not entirely flat. The marquee is accessed over uneven grass.
