Nature Adventures at Clumber Park

Join us this summer for exciting adventures in nature, from microscope sessions to guided pond dips, these activities will enable you to get up close and personal with the wonderful wildlife at Clumber Park.

On Thursdays throughout the summer holidays head to the Discovery Centre to go on an adventure in nature. These activities will explore the wildlife and habitats of Clumber Park, so get your explorer hats on and see what you can find. There are three guided activities that will rotate every Thursday over the summer period:

Microscope Sessions - July 28th & August 18th, 11 - 3

- Head up to the Mezzanine to get up close and personal with nature at Clumber Park

Pond Dipping - 4th & 25th August, 11 - 3

- Meet our Pond-Dippers at the Discovery Centre entrance for a pond-dipping session. Involves a short walk to pond-dip location. Max 15 people per session, session times TBC.

Bug Hunts - 11th August and 1st September, 11 - 3

- Meet our nature guide at the Discovery Centre entrance to go on an expedition searching for bugs. Involves a short walk to location. Max 15 people per session. Session times TBC.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Meeting point
Meet at the Discovery Centre entrance for Pond Dips or Bug Hunts, or head straight up to the Discovery Centre mezzanine floor for microscope sessions.
What to bring and wear
Microscope sessions are indoors, but for Pond Dips or Bug Hunts please dress appropriately for the weather and wear appropriate footwear.
Accessibility
Mezzanine floor accessible via elevator. Pond Dips and Bug Hunts may not be accessible due to locations of activities taking place off of main paths.
