On arrival, you'll be kitted up with buoyancy aids and then led down to the boathouse, which is a 15 minute walk away. You'll be out on the lake for approx. an hour.

There are two boats in the taster sessions: this page is for families (adults and children aged 3 to 16) booking onto boat one. Any children aged 3 to to 6 must be accompanied by an adult. What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Suitability
Children aged 3 to 6 must be accompanied by an adult.
Unfortunately dogs are not welcome at this event.
Meeting point
Please meet at the entrance to Wray Castle (front terrace) for the start of your sailing session, where a member of staff will meet you.
What to bring and wear
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and something you don't mind getting wet.
Other
If you are driving to Wray Castle, please allow time for parking and increased traffic on the roads as the area gets very busy during the summer holidays.
