Polesden love stories
Over the years, Polesden Lacey has been the backdrop to many romantic moments. During the month of February, we want to celebrate all the love stories that Polesden has witnessed over the years… including yours.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Visit the house to see the beautiful costumes, several of which were made by the Arts Society. Each pair of costumes tells the story of a romantic couple whose romance blossomed here at Polesden Lacey. Visitors can also have fun trying on their own costume in the linen room.

What is Gift Aid?
Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.
Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:
- Gift Aid Admission
- Standard Admission
If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.
Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.
An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:
|Amount paid by visitor||£11.00||£10.00|
|Tax refund from Government*||£2.75||£0.00|
|Total received by the National Trust||£13.75||£10.00|

We now charge a single entry price for House and Garden admission. National Trust members and under 5s go free.
£1 restaurant voucher if arriving by public transport (present valid ticket at visitor reception).
Parking for non-members: £2 up to and including 2 hours, £5 all day.
- Unfortunately dogs are not welcome at this event.
- Explore the grounds and find our quirky pop-up picture frames. Each tells the story of a Polesden love story. Recreate the photographs and share them on social media. Or why not visit the Love Tree on the South Lawn and write a note to your loved one to hang on the tree. The house will be open every day, with tours running on weekdays from 11am - 12:30pm followed by free flow exploration in the afternoons and at weekends.
