Meet the Anglesey Beekeepers

Come and meet the Anglesey Beekeepers and learn about bees and why they are so vital for our ecosystem.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Join us as we welcome the Anglesey Beekeepers and their busy insect friends to Plas Newydd.

We’ll be taking a closer look at these fascinating creatures and learning more about why they are so vital for our ecosystem.

Did you know that there are around 270 types of bees in Britain? They’re one of our most important pollinators and we rely on their hard work for much of what we eat.

The Beekeepers will be teaching us all about the steps we can take to help support these insects and their declining habitats. From building a bee box, to planting bee-friendly flowers like primrose, buddleia and marigolds, they’ll have lots of top tips for you to use in your own garden or outdoor space.

You’ll also have the opportunity to see the bees in their see-through hive and learn all about how their colonies work.

The Beekeepers will be here throughout the day. Booking is not required.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

  Gift Aid Standard
Amount paid by visitor £11.00 £10.00
Tax refund from Government* £2.75 £0.00
Total received by the National Trust £13.75 £10.00
