Take in the autumn colours of the wooded landscape around Bateman’s on a route with our ranger.

Enjoy beautiful views across the Dudwell valley and back towards the sandstone house on this guided walk around the Bateman’s estate with a National Trust ranger. Ramble among the changing leaves as you learn more about the countryside that the Kipling family fell in love with. You may even spot a buzzard or two!

What to bring and wear
This walk is along paths that are likely to be muddy, so please wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather.
The distance of the walk is 2.5 miles and takes place throughout the estate, including varying terrain, muddy spots and slopes. Please see the Facilities and access pages at for further information.
