What is Gift Aid?
Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.
Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:
- Gift Aid Admission
- Standard Admission
If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.
Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.
An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:
Gift Aid | Standard | |
---|---|---|
Amount paid by visitor | £11.00 | £10.00 |
Tax refund from Government* | £2.75 | £0.00 |
Total received by the National Trust | £13.75 | £10.00 |
*Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.
Please note...
Winter prices: 28 October - 5 January 2020.
Grounds and House entry is free for National Trust members. If you have a Family or Joint Membership, please bring both your membership cards to gain admission.
The main display rooms in the mansion are now closed for our annual winter cleaning programme.
A selection of rooms will re-open for the Christmas period. Entry is by timed ticket which is pre-bookable. Last entry is at 3pm. Please see the website for more information.
Basement tours are available every day until 17 November 2019. Basement tours are free for National Trust members and visitors with a 'House and Grounds' ticket. Visitors with a 'Grounds Only' ticket can buy a separate ticket for a basement tour from the visitor reception.
We launch Midwinter Mystery Tours on Saturday 23 November. There is a charge of £4 per person for the tour including members. A limited number of tickets are available to book online.
A family ticket applies for up to 2 adults and up to 3 children aged from 5-17 years. Children under 5 are free.
Group bookings require a minimum of 15 people. The discount rate applies regardless how many National Trust members are in the group.
