"My passion is to discover and teach ways of gardening that fit comfortably alongside natural processes, resulting in savings of time and effort, and beauty in the productive garden. I mix up my plantings in a creative way, always for maximum output per area of ground.
No dig ticks all these boxes and also enables freethinking outside many normal rules such as four-year rotation, which I do not practice.
My approach is rooted in organic principles and it will be interesting to discuss this alongside how they are defined in "organic standards”. In my view, the latter are weighted in favour of farming more than market gardening. This can cause problems for smaller producers. I shall discuss the important differences between market gardening and farming, and how often the differences are not recognised or allowed for, in discussions about looking after soil and plants crops.
