Heritage Open Day Workshop - Printing with Sunshine

Join us this Heritage Open Day and get creative at Lyme. Join our workshops and learn how to turn sunlight into beautiful pieces of art.

  • Booking essential

Lyme is a place that has inspired artists for hundreds of years. Unleash your inner artist and discover the magic of cyanotype art. Using only foraged materials and sunshine see what you can create in our art workshops.

Using organic materials and the sun you can create your very own unique piece of art. Cyanotype, or sun printing, is an old photographic printing process. Using paper that has been prepared with a light-sensitive solution, and materials from Lyme’s garden you can create patterns and designs, which will be revealed when your piece is left out in the sunshine.

This event is part of the Heritage Open Day festival. On 10 and 11 September 2022 access to Lyme will be free for visitors to explore Lyme
