May Half Term - The Monarch’s Walk Family Trail

Come along to Moseley Old Hall this May Half Term and help us to celebrate the Restoration of the Monarchy on Oak Apple Day and the Queen’s Jubilee.

  • Booking not needed
  • Admission applies

Saturday 28 May – Sunday 5 June , 10am – 4pm. £2.50 per trail, includes trail sheet, pencil and a compass to take home.

Pick up your trail from Visitor Reception and come and learn about how King Charles II evaded capture from the Parliamentarians with his long journey through the country, visit to Moseley and eventual escape to France.

Use your trail map to find your way through the gardens and along the Monarch’s Walk in the woodland. Find the boards that show you the important places during his escape and collect the letters to solve the mystery word. Work your way back towards the Hall through the Meadow and learn about the Kings and Queens that ruled after Charles II up until Queen Elizabeth II.

Normal admission costs apply, no booking required.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

  Gift Aid Standard
Amount paid by visitor £11.00 £10.00
Tax refund from Government* £2.75 £0.00
Total received by the National Trust £13.75 £10.00

*Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

Please note...

Admission to Moseley Old Hall is free from National Trust Members and under 5's. Non-members pay admission upon arrival.
