Festive decorations at Kingston Lacy: daily 27 Nov-2 Jan

See Kingston Lacy dressed for the season, with Christmas trees and festive decorations galore.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

There’ll be an air of sumptuous festivity in the house, with extravagantly decorated Christmas trees, garlanded fireplaces and a dining room set for a fabulous Christmas feast. Enter into the family festivities by adding a few pieces to a jigsaw, playing dominoes, or reading a special book in a cozy nook. This year for the first time we’re opening the Library, decorated as a quiet retreat for whichever members of the family are escaping the festive merriment!

The house is open 10.30am-last entry 3.00pm until 2 Dec, and 10.30am-last entry 2.30pm between 3 Dec-2 Jan. Whole property closed Christmas Day.

Please note: the Egyptian room and bedrooms are closed during this period.

What is Gift Aid?

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

  Gift Aid Standard
Amount paid by visitor £11.00 £10.00
Tax refund from Government* £2.75 £0.00
Total received by the National Trust £13.75 £10.00

Please note...

Visits to the house are limited to ensure social distancing and entry to the house is not guaranteed on the day you visit.

If you are visiting Badbury Rings on the wider estate please note that there is a car parking charge for non members of £1 for two hours or £3 for the day.
