This May half term, uncover an enchanted secret world at Winkworth Arboretum. Adventure out into the forest and discover the magical fairies in their woodland home, the goblins lurking around the trees and the mini mouse house nestled against the spring plants.

Why not come dressed in a magical costume too to explore the trail?

The children’s trail runs from Saturday 28 May to Sunday 5 June, 10am-4pm. £2 with a small prize, normal admission prices apply. No booking required.

Most of our places run the Gift Aid on Entry scheme at their admission points.

Under this scheme, if you're not a member you have the choice of two entry tickets:

  • Gift Aid Admission
  • Standard Admission

If the place runs Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a clear choice between the Gift Aid Admission prices and the Standard Admission prices at the admission point. It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose.

Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid - an extra 25 per cent - potentially a very significant boost to our places' funds.

An extra £1 paid under the scheme can be worth over £3 to the National Trust as shown below:

Head to the Welcome Kiosk to purchase your trail.
What to bring and wear
Wear clothing appropriate for the weather, and wellies or sturdy shoes.
Accessibility
Please be aware the arboretum is planted on steep hills, and paths can become slippery and muddy. The lower arboretum can only be accessed via steep slopes and steps.
