1. Story Illustration Award

Three classic illustrations from The Tale of Peter Rabbit

Thank you for all your entries, the awards are now closed. Watch this space for the announcement of the shortlist in January.

Here’s what you need to do:

We’re asking you create a new illustrated cover for your favourite book.

Beatrix is most famous for her stories featuring characters such as Peter Rabbit; these were inspired by her love for nature and animals.

Think about your favourite book that was inspired by nature –  for example, The Hungry Caterpillar or Swallows and Amazons, The Old Ways or perhaps one of Beatrix’s books?

There are four age groups:

  • Young artist (7 and under)
  • Junior artist (8 – 11)
  • Senior artist (12 – 18)
  • Adult (18+)

The finished work should include the title and author of the book and be on the A4 template downloadable below. This is your chance to be creative and be inspired by the world around you, just as Beatrix was.

The winner of each category of this award will also win £50 worth of books, kindly donated by Penguin Random House.
