50 things to do in South Devon

Getting outdoors and building sandcastles is a fun family day out

After a popular programme of events that ran last year, our National Trust rangers are once again running free family activities across the South Devon coast and countryside.

What's '50 things' all about?

There's nothing quite like fresh air, exercise and family time. You can't beat the fun you have in the great outdoors and creating memories that will last a lifetime. But sometimes convincing your kids to get outside can be a bit of a struggle.

That's why we've created '50 things to do before you're 11¾'. We want to encourage kids to get mucky, discover their wild side and most of all enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer!

'50 things' events in South Devon

There is an extensive list of events including kite making and beach art, rockpooling and our very popular evening event where you can join the rangers for a big night out on the beach.

You can also look forward to watersports taster sessions, rockpooling, children's activities, den building, and more. We have events running in quite a few locations, including Wembury beach, South Milton Sands and East Soar.

Tick off your '50 things' as family explorers

If you can't make one of the '50 things' events that our rangers put on, you can still get out and tick off some as a family. South Devon is wonderful to explore, and there are plenty of wild and wonderful areas to discover bugs and beasts, fly a kite, or build a sandcastle.
