Campervans and motorhomes at our Lakes campsites
Campervanners and motorhome owners are very welcome at all our campsites. Please check our pitch descriptions very carefully before booking as pitches do vary from site to site.
Great Langdale Campsite
We have 8 hardstanding pitches with electric hook up which can be booked online. 6 are at the far end of the site, closest to the Old Dungeon Ghyll pub (2 minute walk away), and 2 are located behind our reception block.
We also have space for a few campervans without electric hook up, accepted on a 'first-come-first-served' basis (subject to availability) – which is a matter of parking anywhere on the hard-standing parking areas around the edges of the camping fields.
If you plan to bring a motorhome over 6m in length, please email us to check whether we are able to accommodate you or call 015394 37668.
Chemical toilet disposal facilities are now available at Langdale.
The route to Wasdale is very narrow (single track in many places) and frankly quite tortuous but the reward at the end of the journey will not disappoint. Please be aware that due to the size and nature of our pitches and the difficult approach to the campsite which takes you over a narrow bridge, it is difficult for us to accept campervans over 6.5m in length.
We offer hardstanding pitches with electric hook up at the periphery of the campsite adjacent to the pay and display car park. Currently most campervan pitches lie under a canopy of trees.
We also offer an elsan facility for toilet cartridges, situated at the facility block (no vehicular access). So once you are here - relax and enjoy this amazing setting from the comfort of your own RV.
Feel free to call the Wasdale campsite team directly to discuss your needs on 019467 26220 or email the booking team.
Low Wray Campsite (Easter to end October)
We have 14 hardstanding pitches for campervans which are bookable online (but see note below about winter bookings). No pitches have electric hook up but we do now offer an elsan facility. Some of the pitches are suitable for awnings. The pitches vary in size and location - most are found beside the campsite track on the edge of the site with uninterrupted views across the fields to the Coniston fells. A few pitches are located in the woodland next to the beck with great access for launching canoes, but please note that there are no lakeside pitches for campervans.
The road leading to the site is narrow in places so larger motorhomes should take care. We recommend speaking to the campsite team before booking if you intend to bring a larger vehicle or would like to have space for an awning. Call the Low Wray team directly on 015394 32039 or the booking team on 015394 32733.
Winter bookings at Low Wray
Please note we will be open only at weekends at Low Wray from 31st October – 1st January. Campervan pitches will NOT be available online so during this period, please call either the bookings office or campsite reception.
Hoathwaite Campsite (Easter to Oct)
We don't provide specific facilities for campervan owners at Hoathwaite other than an elsan (if you bring your own toilet). Pitches are grassy with NO electric hook up and can accommodate vehicles up to 6 metres in length with space for an awning. Please choose your pitch on arrival. Hoathwaite offers a real back to nature experience with only very basic WC & shower facilities available on site.
