Our cosy pods offer a few simple indoor comforts whilst staying in the great outdoors.

Perfect for a weekend away, camping pods offer the chance to relax without having to pitch a tent yourself. So whether you’re a couple looking to explore, or a family hoping to get some adventures together, the pods could be an easy way to get away.

The pods at Eskdale are a bit more basic compared to the pods at our other Lake District sites. Clustered together, a stone’s throw from all the essential facilities, there are 10 cosy pods in two little circles in a wooded area of the campsite – so be prepared for a sociable stay rather than complete privacy. The pods do not contain any equipment at all, so you’d need to bring all your camping kit apart from the tent although they do have heating and lighting.

There’s one pod size available which is suitable for a maximum of two adults and one child.

The pods blend in with the Lakeland backdrop as they’re made from locally sourced timber, and insulated with sheep’s wool, which also means you can use them for a break during the winter months.

Dogs welcome with well behaved owners

We’ve just taken ownership of Eskdale Campsite so we’ll continue to allow dogs in pods at this site as this is the situation we inherited. Watch this space though, as we’ll be replacing some of the pods in 2019 and we’ll have some ‘no dog’ pods too for those who may have allergies to our furry friends.

What you need to bring

Think of a pod as a replacement for your tent. You'll need to bring everything you would bring if you were camping in your tent:  i.e. sleeping bag, sleep mat, pots and pans, stove, camping chairs, torch etc.

How much is it to stay in a pod at Eskdale?

The pods cost £48 per night in all seasons.

What time can you arrive and when do you need to leave?

The camping pods are available from 1pm on day of arrival until 10am on day of departure.
