Cloud Farm site rules

Arrival Times

Check in starts at 1.30pm. For late arrivals (pre-booked only), pitch instructions will be left in a "late arrivals box" outside Reception.

Departure times

Please vacate your pitch by 11am on your day of departure. If you'd like to extend your stay please book and pay at Reception before 10am.

Parking

To protect the natural beauty of the site, some fields do not allow parking, these will be clearly labelled when booking your stay online. In the car-free fields, you’ll be able to park nearby to unload.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome on site (maximum of two per party), but please notify us at the time of booking. They must be kept on a lead at all times and exercised away from other campers. Please pick up after your dogs right away. We have dog waste bins in the main waste disposal site in the campsite carpark and we sell bags in the shop.

Quiet please

We ask that our visitors are considerate to their neighbours at all times, but ‘quiet please’ between 10pm and 7am.

Pitches

When making a booking at Cloud Farm, you will choose a specific field to spend your stay in. Please read the pitch description in the booking system carefully before choosing your preferred field. On arrival, you will choose your pitch within the field. We do not allocate or reserve specific pitches within your designated field.

Groups/Maximum occupancy

We are happy to welcome organised groups such as educational groups, DofE, Scouts, Guides, etc. to the site. Proof of group status may be required when booking. Please email CloudFarmCampsite@nationaltrust.org.uk to book.

All group bookings must be made via the booking office and cannot be made online.

Fires/Barbecues

BBQs can be used as long as they are raised from the ground. For more fire safety information look at our information board.

Fires are allowed at each pitch and fire wood is available from our shop. Please do not bring your own wood unless it is nail and debris free. We also ask that you do not take stones from the dry-stone walls surrounding the campsite to use as fire pit markers.

Safety

Cooking inside tents is NOT permitted and can be lethal due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed on the site.

Lost property

If you leave any of your possessions behind at the campsite, please contact us as soon as possible.

We reserve the right to charge you for any storage and delivery costs that we incur in relation to your lost property. We charge a lost property charge of £10 to cover our administrative costs and standard Royal Mail delivery up to 2kgs in the UK to return your items to you. If a request to return your items deviates from these conditions, then we reserve the right to charge you any additional costs.

Where possible, we’ll hold lost property for three months after which it’ll be disposed of. Perishables will be disposed of immediately and are therefore unreturnable. In addition, we will only be able to return items permissible by Royal Mail.

Problem or complaint

Every reasonable care will be taken to ensure that the camping pitch, pod or bothy and also site amenities are presented to a high standard. Should you find any cause for complaint, please immediately contact one of the campsite staff, so that reasonable steps can then be taken to rectify the problem. National Trust willnot normally make any refunds in respect of complaints made after the Visitor’s departure from the campsite if the Visitor did not make the problem or complaint known to staff during the Visitor’s stay. If you supplied an email address at the time of booking, a survey will be emailed to you for your comments after your stay. Alternatively, a comment form may be completed and left at the campsite reception. All complaints made after the Visitor’s departure should be made in writing by post or email to:

National Trust Members

Sadly there are no reductions for members at our sites due to charity commission rules however please be assured that the money raised through the campsite will be put to good use supporting our conservation work locally. Thank you for your support.
