Cycle for the National Trust

Cycling at Reigate Hill and Gatton Park, Surrey

Would you like to cycle for charity? Help us look after the places you love by taking on a cycling challenge and fundraising for the National Trust.

We're looking for cyclists to take part in one of two events this year – Nightrider Bristol 2019 and RideLondon 2019.

Already got a place? Find out why we need you to fundraise for us.

Your miles matter to us. We need your support to care for the rivers, mountains, beaches and forests you love to escape to.

Whether it's the golden beach that saw your child's first steps or the ancient forest that brings you peace, there are places that are special to all of us. Which place will you be thinking of as you pedal towards the finishing line?

We have reserved a number of places at two cycling events:

Nightrider Bristol, 6-7 July 2019

RideLondon, 3-4 August 2019

If you sign up with us, we'll send you a National Trust cycling shirt and a fundraising kit to support you with your fundraising and training. To get you started, we're also offering cyclists the ultimate training guidance (below) thanks to our partnership with British Cycling and with funding and support from their lead sponsor HSBC UK.

Note, these places will get filled up quickly.

And if you've already got a place and would like to support the National Trust, see below for information on fundraising for us and what we'll give you in return.

Why we need your help

Knowing that you're helping to save the places you love could be the motivation you need to make it over the finish line. Maybe it's the beach you loved as a child, the forest where you spotted an owl or the castle steeped in history. Looking after the places in our care takes thousands of hours and millions of pounds. Help us care for 780 miles of coast, 248,000 hectares of countryside, 200 gardens and 350 historic houses.

How we'll support you

If you cycle for us you will receive a fundraising kit packed with ideas, hints and tips. It will include the following:

  • stickers to proudly shout about what you’ve done;
  • a pledge card to help keep you motivated and on target;
  • posters to ensure as many people know as possible; and
  • a collection box to gather those important donations

We will also help you prepare for race day by sending you motivational emails, training schedules and nutritional information.
